Everything Goes Dark A Little Further Down is a love letter to the abnormal. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of cultural sources, Croizier unleashes his imagination through photography. Inspired by 19th-century medical archives, freak shows, and cult horror classics such as David Lynch’s Eraserhead, he delves into the concept of monstrosity, intertwining it with his own experience of homosexuality.
In his photographs, Croizier dissects, distorts, and sketches parts of his own body, creating surreal, pseudo-scientific scenes where his head, hands, ears, and feet become the focal points of his studies.
Within the confines of his apartment, he constructs a monstrous spectacle, emphasizing that normality and abnormality are mere social constructs and highlighting the crucial role of imagery in shaping these perceptions.
