My Husband reveals a story that remained private for 40 years. The book recounts, in photographs, the happy days of Tokuko Ushioda with her husband, Shinzo Shimao, and her daughter, Maho, as well as the solitude faced by the photographer, alone in the night without noise.
My Husband, which includes photographs taken in the five years following Maho's birth, is made up of two volumes: the first is composed of photographs in the 6x6 square format, characteristic of Ushioda's photographic practice, while the second presents 35mm snapshots.
