Nothing is impossible under the sun by Alice Myers

For two years I traveled easily and often across the border to Calais, getting to know those who are trying to cross the border by hiding in lorries, those who smuggle them across, those who are claiming asylum in France and those with no legal status and no plans to leave.
By negotiating the terms on which I take photographs, and incorporating rich materials such as drawings, writing, Facebook photographs and conversations, I aim to shape a complex representation of people who are legally invisible and the separate space to which they are consigned. Here there is farcical tragedy, futile repetition, and the impossibility of rest.
